1983 Plymouth · Lender-owned, lien released
1983 Plymouth Gran Fury Police Car offered at online auction by Repo Vehicle Holdings. Bank-sourced car with a clear title, VIN history report, no buyer fees and a 30-day return window. Open bidding with the full bid history visible.
This 1983 Plymouth Gran Fury police car was delivered new through Armory Garage, Inc. of Albany, New York, to the New York State Police (NYSP) and assigned to Troop T, which has operated since 1961 as a specialized unit dedicated specifically to law enforcement, traffic safety, and incident response along the 570-mile New York State Thruway System. Since that time, the vehicle has been displayed for a year in the Northeast Classic Car Museum in Norwich, New York, won a best-in-class award at Carlisle Chrysler Nationals in Pennsylvania, and appeared in the Animal Planet TV show Finding Bigfoot along with various parades and police events. Powered by a 318ci V8 with a Holley four-barrel carburetor and an Edelbrock intake manifold, the car is finished in blue-and-yellow NYSP livery and features a light bar, hidden strobe lights, a spotlight, a two-way radio control head, and a siren/PA system/light controller. Additional equipment includes a three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, power front disc brakes, 15″ steel wheels, hubcaps, air conditioning, and an AM/FM radio.
The fender tag lists the A38 production for the code factory-installed Police Pursuit Package.
The Plymouth has been repainted in 1974-to-1984-era blue-and-yellow NYSP livery. Features include hideaway front and rear deck “lollipop” lights, a Unity Model S6 driver-side spotlight, and an AeroDynic light bar as well as bright trim, chrome bumpers, dual side mirrors, and a hood ornament.
Black-painted 15″ steel wheel wearing vented bright hubcaps are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The steering is power assisted, as are the front disc and rear drum brakes.
