1970 Plymouth Duster 340

This 1970 Plymouth Duster 340 is powered by a 340ci V8 that has been rebuilt and modified with a Mopar intake manifold, a Holley four-barrel carburetor, a hydraulic camshaft, a Mallory electronic distributor, an aluminum radiator, an aluminum coolant tank, and long-tube exhaust headers. Its 727 TorqueFlite automatic transmission has a reverse valve body and is linked to an 8¾” rear end. Finished in yellow over black vinyl upholstery, the car features a black scooped hood, black stripes, mini-tubbed rear wheel wells, Center Line 15″ wheels, and front disc brakes as well as front bucket seats, a Turbo Action shifter, an AutoMeter tachometer and auxiliary gauges, a roll bar, and a fuel cell.

The Valiant-based Duster coupe was introduced in late 1969 for the 1970 model year. Exterior equipment includes hood pins, dual side mirrors, bright trim, dual exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers. The car lacks windshield wipers.

Center Line 15″ polished-aluminum wheels are mounted with 275/60 Hoosier Drag Radial rear tires and 165/80 Petlas Elegant PT311 front tires. Braking is provided by front discs and rear drums.

The cabin houses bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl with brown inserts. The rear bench seat has been removed, and a custom roll bar is positioned behind the front seats. A Turbo Action Cheetah SCS shifter with reverse lockout is located on the floor between the seats. Other interior appointments include woodgrain trim, seatbelts, an AM radio, a heater, black carpeting, and Duster-logo black carpeted floor mats.
