This 1982 International Harvester Cargostar 1810 left the factory in a chassis-cab configuration and was outfitted as a quintuple combination pumper by Pierce Manufacturing of Appleton, Wisconsin. Equipment includes a Tele-Squirt telescopic water tower with an extending aerial ladder as well as a PTO water pump, a siren, spotlights, and emergency lights. Power comes from a 446ci V8 linked to a five-speed automatic transmission, and the vehicle rides on 20” wheels with a dually rear axle.
A quintuple combination pumper is named for its five core pieces of equipment: a water pump, a holding tank, a fire hose, an aerial apparatus, and ground ladders. This quint is finished in Lime Yellow and features a Tele-Squirt 50’ telescopic water tower with a hydraulically extending aerial ladder on a turntable base. Stabilizer jacks are provided on both sides.
Controls for the aerial apparatus are located at the rear of the vehicle.
The PTO water pump is operated from the left side. A tap handle has been added to the upper left corner of the control panel.
The 20” wheels are wrapped in a mixed set of tires. The vehicle rides on a dually rear axle, and it has a GVWR of 28,380 pounds.
