About this car

L28-Powered 1972 Datsun 240Z Roadster Conversion 5-Speed offered at online auction by Repo Vehicle Holdings. Bank-sourced car with a clear title, VIN history report, no buyer fees and a 30-day return window. Open bidding with the full bid history visible.

This 1972 Datsun 240Z was modified under prior ownership with roadster-style bodywork that incorporates a Miata-sourced windshield frame and fiberglass fenders, while the 2.8-liter inline-six and five-speed manual transmission were sourced from a 280Z. The car has four-wheel disc brakes, aftermarket exterior lighting, an aftermarket steering wheel, and a T-handle shifter.

Modified under prior ownership by removing the roof and installing a Miata-sourced windshield frame, the bodywork was repaired and repainted in black in preparation for the sale. Work involved repairing cracks in the fiberglass fenders and repairing damage on the front fascia caused by an impact with a parking block. Aftermarket lighting is also fitted.

Aftermarket 15″ wheels were polished in June 2026 and are mounted with Kuhmo tires. Stopping is provided by four-wheel disc brakes.

Reclining bucket seats installed in June 2026 are trimmed in black cloth with patterned inserts. A Kenwood Excelon head unit was installed in preparation for the sale, and the interior wiring was also replaced. A T-handle shifter is housed in the center console.
