Callaway-Turbocharged 1980 Volkswagen Scirocco 5-Speed offered at online auction by Repo Vehicle Holdings. Bank-sourced car with a clear title, VIN history report, no buyer fees and a 30-day return window. Open bidding with the full bid history visible.
This 1980 Volkswagen Scirocco is powered by a 1.6-liter inline-four that has been fitted with a Callaway turbocharger system. Now showing 34k miles, the car also features a five-speed manual transaxle, a front chin spoiler, aftermarket sway bars, front disc brakes, air conditioning, and an Alpine cassette stereo linked to aftermarket audio equipment.
The Giugiaro-designed first-generation Scirocco was built by Karmann in Germany for the entire production run from 1974 to 1981. This example was delivered in Onyx Green Metallic and refinished under previous ownership. Exterior details include a front chin spoiler, quadruple headlights, tinted windows, body-color moldings, and a rear window wiper. The right front turn signal lens is chipping, wrinkles are noted in the rear bumper trim, and blemishes are present in the window trim.
Silver-finished 15″ BBS wheels are wrapped in 195/50 Yokohama Advan Fleva tires. Bilstein shocks and struts were installed in 2021, and aftermarket sway bars and chassis braces have been fitted. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.
The front bucket seats and the rear bench seat are trimmed in black vinyl with color-coordinated carpets and door panels. Woodgrain trim accents the dashboard, and the car features air conditioning, a locking glove box, a cargo-area cover, a golf ball-style shift knob, and an Alpine cassette stereo. An aftermarket stereo preamplifier with a graphic equalizer is mounted beneath the climate controls, while a panel with a toggle switch and volume knobs is affixed ahead of the shifter. Cracks are noted around the dashboard vents.
