This Fiat 131 is one of fewer than 50 second-series, late-production Racing models that were outfitted by Abarth when new with a Volumex-supercharged, 1,995cc twin-cam inline-four, enlarged front disc brakes, an uprated anti-roll bar, stiffer, sport-tuned suspension components, additional instrumentation, and unique badging. Initially registered in June 1984, the car was initially delivered in Turin, Italy, and later resided in The Netherlands prior to being imported into the United Kingdom, where it now shows 57k kilometers (~36k miles). It is finished in Alluminio Metallica with black aerodynamic accents and trim, and it features a manual gearbox, stainless-steel exhaust system, programmable electronic ignition, 15″ Cromodora CD68 wheels, bolstered front seats, a contoured rear bench, period-look Autosonik speakers, and an Abarth-branded, two-spoke steering wheel.

The second-series Fiat 131 was produced from 1978 through early 1981, and two-door cars in Racing trim featured sporty styling accents including quad unequal-radius headlamps, a revised grille, and aerodynamic bumpers.

The data plate of this example, shown above, carries engine code 232R10 and type code 131 AK/V1, indicating a late-production, Series 2 Racing example outfitted by Abarth with a Volumex-supercharged 1,995cc twin-cam inline-four. Such cars, designated Racing Volumetrico Abarth, were assembled in limited numbers, with sources estimating production at fewer than 50 in total.
