About this car

This 1953 Porsche 356 stretch limousine was custom-built circa 2001 by Don “The Egyptian” Boeke in Dayton, Ohio, at the request of marque collector John Dixon for use in the wedding of Dixon’s daughter. Power is provided by a flat-four that is said to have been sourced from a Porsche 912 and overhauled by Yuri Rojas in Dayton, Ohio, with upgraded pistons and camshafts. Additional custom features include rear-hinged rear doors, a tan fabric sunroof, trafficators, “Limousine” exterior badging, a central glass partition, tan leather upholstery over a rear bench and front seats with cloth inserts, and air suspension. Finished in white, the car is also equipped with a four-speed manual transaxle, four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes, and body-color 15” wheels.

The front bodywork is said to have been sourced from a 1953 Pre-A 356 that was delivered new for the French market via Sonauto, whose badge is fitted to the rear decklid of the limousine. Finished in Grand Prix White, the body features conventionally opening front doors, rear-hinged rear doors, and wide B-pillars housing square windows, opera lights, and trafficators.

Additional features include a tan fabric sunroof panel over the rear compartment, body-color bumpers, dual side mirrors, rear wheel spats, quad beehive taillights, and a rear luggage rack. Custom “Limousine” badging is affixed to the front fenders and rear panel.

Body-color steel wheels wear Porsche-crest hubcaps and are wrapped in BFGoodrich wide-whitewall tires. Stopping is handled by four-wheel drum brakes.

Inside the tan-leatherette-trimmed cabin, the rear compartment is isolated from the front seats by a glass partition and hosts a bench seat with fold-down backs. The wood upper cowl panel incorporates an indoor/outdoor thermometer, a Veigel clock, and shelf surfaces with indents for champagne flutes. Additional features include color-matched carpeting, lap belts, roll-up windows, venetian-style rear blinds, footrests, a Blaupunkt radio blanking plate, and a period ashtray with a floral pattern.
