About this car

This 1959 Porsche 356A was delivered new to France and is one of approximately 35 GS "de Luxe" coupes built for the final year of 356A production. It features a 1.6-liter Type 692/2 four-cam flat-four engine with a plain-bearing crankshaft and dry-sump lubrication.

The car was imported to the US from Germany in 2005 and acquired by the current owner in 2011. It has been repainted in its factory shade of Silver Metallic and the interior was re-trimmed in red leather.

Recent work has included a refresh of the brakes, replacement of the tires, a rebuild of the distributors, a reseal of the dual Solex carburetors, and installation of a hidden electric fuel pump, CDI ignition units, a fuel pressure regulator, and an anti-drain back valve.

This 356A Carrera Coupe is now offered with a copy of the Kardex, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, manufacturer's literature, a tool kit, service records, and a New Jersey title.
