This Model 86-5 gas pump was produced by Gilbert & Barker Manufacturing Co. of Springfield, Massachusetts, and was refurbished in Flying A Aero-Type livery. Gilbert & Barker Manufacturing Co. This example was repainted inside and out, fitted with replacement decals, and rewired with a 120-volt cord, and its nozzle was reconditioned. The three-function registers have integrated sight glasses.

The Tidewater Oil Company marketed its products under the Tydol brand on the East Coast of the United States, and Flying A became the company’s primary brand in 1926, though regional names were retained. The Aero-Type name was intended to suggest aviation-grade performance. The reproduction illuminated globe features Flying A Aero-Type branding.

The Gilbert & Barker Manufacturing Co. data plate describes the pump as a Model 86-5. The internals have been removed.
