About this car

This 1971 Husqvarna 250 Cross was originally owned by Steve McQueen under whose ownership it received a replacement engine, and its frame was later replaced. It was also refurbished under prior ownership. The non-running bike is finished in red over a silver-finished frame and equipped with a 250cc two-stroke single paired with a four-speed transmission. Equipment includes a solo seat, a Bing carburetor, a kick starter, a high-mount expansion-chamber exhaust, a chrome cross-braced handlebar, a side stand, number plates, and wire-spoke wheels with alloy rims.

The bike was refurbished under prior ownership, with a fuel tank finished in red with polished side panels and white tank script and stripes, the high-mounted fenders are polished, and the single-downtube frame is finished in silver. Additional details include a black solo seat, a silver-finished air cleaner housing, green front and side-mounted number plates, and a side stand.

Wire-spoke wheels measuring 21″ up front and 18″ out back have alloy rims and are mounted with Kenda Klassic knobby tires. Suspension consists of a conventional fork as well as twin adjustable shocks mounted to the swingarm. Braking is handled by front and rear drums.

The chrome cross-braced handlebar carries bright levers along with black grips and switchgear. No instrumentation is equipped, therefore total mileage is unknown.

The 250cc two-stroke single was factory rated at 28 horsepower, and details include a Bing carburetor, a kick starter, and a black high-mount exhaust system with a perforated heat shield.
