About this car

65-Years-Owned 1951 AJS Model 20 Spring Twin offered at online auction by Repo Vehicle Holdings. Bank-sourced car with a clear title, VIN history report, no buyer fees and a 30-day return window. Open bidding with the full bid history visible.

The engine is linked to a Burman four-speed transmission, and additional equipment includes a Teledraulic fork, jampot shocks, an Amal Monobloc carburetor, a Lucas magneto ignition, re-shoed drum brakes, replacement 19″ wire-spoke wheels, a replacement chrome dual exhaust system, and a reupholstered black vinyl two-up seat with red piping.

A 3.6-gallon fuel tank finished in black with gold graphics and black rubber knee grips is joined by a matching oil tank, dual toolboxes, and a contoured two-up seat with red piping over a black single-downtube, double-cradle frame. Equipment includes folding passenger foot pegs and both center and side stands.

During the refurbishment, re-shoed drum-brake alloy hubs were chrome-plated and laced to replacement chrome-steel rims mounted with 3.50×19″ Avon Speedmaster MKII front and Safety Mileage MKII rear tires. Suspension is provided by a Teledraulic fork as well as a pair of “jampot” shocks mounted to the swingarm.

The higher, wider chrome handlebar that was standard on Model 20s designated for the North American export market is clamped to the rear of the top triple clamp. It carries dual mirrors and fronts a 150-mph Smiths speedometer that, along with the rear drive unit, was replaced in 2002. Additional instrumentation includes an ammeter recessed atop the headlight bucket.
