This 1960 DeSoto Fireflite two-door hardtop coupe is said to have been modified with the installation of a Chrysler-sourced 383ci V8 and a push-button TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission as well as interior components from a 1962 Chrysler 300. Repainted in red over red tweed cloth upholstery, the car is equipped with AstraDome gauges, an AM radio, an RCA record player, 15″ wire wheels, whitewall tires, and a dual exhaust system.

DeSoto manufactured 3,494 Fireflite two-door hardtops for the marque’s penultimate model year of 1960. Exterior details include chrome bumpers, quad headlights, fender-mounted side mirrors, bright body-side trim, reverse lights, dual exhaust outlets, and taillamps integrated with the tail fins. Chrome-finished 15″ wire wheels are mounted with Cooper whitewall radial tires measuring 205/70. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is provided by four-wheel drums.

The cabin houses front and rear bench seats that have been reupholstered in red tweed cloth, which carries over to the door panels. Interior appointments include a padded upper dashboard panel, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, lap belts, and a fold-down center armrest for front passengers.
