20-Years-Owned 1969 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Convertible

The air-cooled flat-four was overhauled to displace 1,776ccs in 2016, and the car was later relocated to California. Equipment consists of a replacement blue soft top, a retrofitted four-speed manual transaxle, a 1970-style rear bumper bar, 15″ steel wheels, a wooden shift knob, a two-spoke steering wheel, a center console, and an AM/FM radio linked with removable rear speakers.

A replacement blue soft top has been installed, and exterior details include LED brake lights and turn signals as well as a 1970-style rear bumper bar, a fender-mounted antenna, dual side mirrors, a vented decklid, and bright trim. The washer fluid tank and hoses are present, but the system is inoperative. The windshield is delaminating at the top left corner, and close-up photos of paint imperfections are viewable in the gallery below.

The 15″ steel wheels feature bright dog dish hubcaps and are mounted with 165/80 Coker whitewall tires. A front anti-sway bar has been fitted, and stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drums.

The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in replacement black leatherette, and interior appointments include a wooden shift knob, a woodgrain-finished dashboard, front seatbelts, a locking glovebox, pleated door pockets, an AM/FM radio with wood knobs, removable rear speakers, and a console with cupholders on the shifter tunnel. The frunk has been lined with carpeting, and a plastic glove box liner has been installed.

The two-spoke steering wheel fronts VDO instrumentation including a 90-mph speedometer and a fuel-level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 14k miles, approximately 8k of which were added under current ownership.
