2.0L-Powered 1972 Porsche 914 offered at online auction by Repo Vehicle Holdings. Bank-sourced car with a clear title, VIN history report, no buyer fees and a 30-day return window. Open bidding with the full bid history visible.
This 1972 Porsche 914 was purchased new as a graduation gift for the original owner, a Harvard Medical School graduate who retained the car until his passing in 1997. Ownership is said to have transferred to his childhood friend, who kept it for nearly three decades and commissioned an overhaul of the air-cooled flat-four during a $14k refurbishment in 2006. Recommissioning under current ownership included overhauling the five-speed transaxle and brakes, servicing the suspension and CV axles, refurbishing electrical components, installing a Bursch stainless-steel muffler, refinishing 15″ Pedrini wheels, and stripping and refinishing the underside and various chassis panels.
Prior corrosion repairs in the battery-box and “hell hole” area include welded replacement metal, and these areas were inspected under current ownership. Electrical work was performed on the headlight and fog-light assemblies, front lighting wiring, and the relays and reverse-light switch were replaced.
A set of 15″ Pedrini alloy wheels was sourced, refinished in silver, and mounted with 165/80 Pirelli Cinturato CN36 tires under current ownership. Replacement brake lines, Zimmermann rotors, and pads were installed, the brake fluid was flushed, and the front hubs and suspension components were serviced.
The black leatherette interior was refreshed under previous ownership. Equipment includes a center armrest console, AM/FM radio, heater, wind-up windows, and three-point seatbelts. The cigarette lighter was repaired under current ownership, along with the passenger-seat occupancy sensor harness.
