About this car

1961 Vespa 400 offered at online auction by Repo Vehicle Holdings. Bank-sourced car with a clear title, VIN history report, no buyer fees and a 30-day return window. Open bidding with the full bid history visible.

It was repainted under prior ownership, and the interior was redone with two-tone upholstery. Power comes from an air-cooled 400cc two-stroke twin paired with a three-speed manual gearbox, and equipment includes a tan soft top, independent suspension, four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes, 10″ steel wheels, and a Veglia speedometer.

The Vespa 400 was designed by the Italian motor vehicle manufacturer Piaggio and produced by ACMA in Fourchambault, France. Approximately 30k examples were manufactured between 1957 and 1961, and this car was repainted in red under previous ownership. It has a tan soft top with a plastic rear window as well as a louvered decklid, chrome bumpers with guards, and rear-hinged doors with sliding windows.

Painted 10” wheels wear polished hubcaps and are wrapped in BFGoodrich Silvertown whitewall tires. The independent suspension features coil springs at all four corners, and braking is handled by hydraulic drums.

The low-back bucket seats have been re-trimmed in tan and red vinyl, and the upholstery scheme carries over to the door panels. A Piaggio emblem has been added to the right side of the dashboard, and the floors are painted black.
