1961 Mercedesbenz · United States · Lender-owned, lien released
1961 Mercedes-Benz 190SL offered at online auction by Repo Vehicle Holdings. Bank-sourced car with a clear title, VIN history report, no buyer fees and a 30-day return window. Open bidding with the full bid history visible.
This 1961 Mercedes-Benz 190SL was originally delivered to Spain and subsequently imported to the US by its original owner in June 1961. The car reportedly remained in Texas and was restored from 2010 until 2011. It is powered by a 1.9-liter inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission and is finished in black over red leather. Equipment includes a black soft top, 13″ steel wheels with body-color hubcaps, and a Becker AM/FM radio.
The car is finished in black (040) and was repainted during the aforementioned restoration following the completion of body work. A replacement soft top was also installed at that time, while the rubber gaskets and seals were replaced, and the chrome was renewed. The front cowl was repainted in 2025, and imperfections in the paint are highlighted in the gallery.
Steel 13″ wheels wear chrome trim rings, hubcaps with body-color accents, and whitewall tires. The car is equipped with a double-wishbone front suspension, rear swing axles with coil springs, and power-assisted drum brakes. Work carried out during the restoration involved rebuilding the suspension and replacing the brake components. The parking brake was repaired in 2025 and the brake fluid was flushed at that time.
The cabin features low-back bucket seats that have been reupholstered in red Roser leather sourced from GAHH, as well as matching door panels and dashboard trim. Amenities include lap belts, an analog clock, a Becker Europa AM/FM radio, and a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror. The driver’s window is said to have been serviced under current ownership.
