1936 Ford Model 68 Deluxe Phaeton Hot Rod offered at online auction by Repo Vehicle Holdings. Bank-sourced car with a clear title, VIN history report, no buyer fees and a 30-day return window. Open bidding with the full bid history visible.
This 1936 Ford Model 68 is one of 5,555 Deluxe Phaeton examples produced for the model year and was refurbished under prior ownership. The car is powered by a 59AB flathead V8 from a ’48 Ford that is equipped with Offenhauser heads, an Offenhauser intake manifold, and a Holley carburetor. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a three-speed automatic transmission and a Columbia two-speed rear axle. It rides on 16″ artillery-style wheels and a Mustang II-style independent front suspension setup and is further equipped with power-assisted juice brakes incorporating ventilated front discs as well as an olive soft top, brown leather upholstery, yellow-lens driving lights, and a rear-mounted spare.
The four-door Deluxe Phaeton featured a factory convertible top and lacked roll-up side windows. The replacement top here is dark khaki, while the body has been refinished in black. Styling includes chrome bumpers, yellow-lens auxiliary lights, dual side mirrors, a rear luggage rack, wind wings, light green pinstripes, chrome wraparound front grille trim, dual horns, and dual taillights.
Body-color 16″ artillery-style wheels are mounted with Firestone Deluxe Champion whitewall tires. The vehicle is equipped with electric power steering, a Mustang II-style independent front suspension with adjustable coilovers, and power-assisted, hydraulically actuated front disc and rear drum brakes. A body-color spare tire carrier is affixed to the rear of the car.
Two rows of bench seats are upholstered in brown leather, and interior appointments include a Lokar shifter, a rearview mirror with an inset clock, a locking glovebox, and an under-dash heater.
